The wind blows heavily across my face as I trudge through the snow. Today was the last day of school, and tomorrow was the start of official vacation, and fortunately, I had a huge "to-do" list of just exciting plans for a whole month. I walked home with a quicker pace than usual, eager to get home and sleep. The only thing on my mind from that moment on was TOKYO.A smile lit up my face as I thought about how I would take much of my time ambling through Tokyo with my family, shopping, and having absolutely no snow.
And before I know it, its the day to leave. The Lazirko family at any airport always winds up being a little late, because of our slight inability to make decisions quickly. For example, I remember Natasha sporadically changed her mind about what food she wanted to eat, which killed a lot of time. We had nearly missed the flight. We rushed through security, where my phone was confiscated, which killed even more time. But, hey, eventually we made it.
During the flight to Tokyo, a man nearby was infringing the rules in the airplane by blasting his rock music to maximum volume. Heads turned and he did not seem to mind it at all. So, two hours of rock music and not much sleep pass by and we are landed in Tokyo. The air is cold, but no snow is to be seen . Another two hours of a bus ride to my Grandparent's house in Chofu, and voila !
I rest my stuff down in the living room as my mom doffed the heavy jacket she was wearing the whole day. In that moment, I made a brilliant plan. Instead of the original plan of going out, my sister and I decided to make dinner for the whole family. We amalgamate the chicken and the spices in the soup to make the delicious thai curry my sister and I wanted to make. In the end, it was a little bit too spicy but none the less delicious. I was very proud of myself. But unfortunately, my very cute dog Natsu grew sick, and the first night in my sister and I would only watch in commiseration as as he threw up (nothing to do with my curry). My only salvation was to protect my dog Natsu from harm.
After dinner, my Grandma took down some heavy boxes and showed me pictures of my mom when she was my age and younger. We had a good family laugh! After a n hour of sharing pictures, my grandma wanted me to heave the heavy boxes back to the upper shelf.Great family memory .
One of the best parts of this whole trip was exploring downtown. The only down part about it was the big crosswalk in Shibuya. I was resentful about crossing the huge crosswalk in Tokyo after bumping into three people head on before. Besides that, there were herds of people. Crowds of people were at every vantage point. It was an amazing experience.
I was very lucky to have a family trip to Tokyo Disney Land and Sea. I felt like my family needed one of those trips, and it was great.
At Tokyo Disney land, I found all the princesses's voices to be shrilling. Just an observation I had while walking around. The Lazirko's walk the entire park looking for rides with not so much of a waiting time. While waiting in line for a ride, the person before me talked ingenuously about her school and the woman next to me was very boisterous. 30 minutes pass and FINALLY we are next in line. The employee hitched our seat-belts before the roller coaster took off, and in less 5 minutes the ride is over. I felt chargin when I saw my face in the pictures that were taken during a roller coaster ride. I tried blocking those images out of my memory.
New Years of 2016 was spent well. My sister and I received otoshidama, and although later on I bought a lot of things with my otoshidama money, my sister was very thrifty with hers.
The last of my days in Tokyo were spent walking down memory lane. I visited my very first horse barn I first learned to ride and take care of horses. I saw the hard barnworkers had carried bedraggled towels that had become worn out over the years. It was really nice to see how the place has changed. The cool part was that most of the original horses were there, so I had got to reunite with them!
Tokyo was a little chilly, but we stopped by a park to relax our last days in here and ate a picnic lunch. The whole time we were eating, my dog Natsu kept nagging at all of us for treats. My toady-behaving dog got more treats by being cute.
And before I know it, I'm on the flight back home to Sapporo. I had started to miss home, and I was so ready to get back on track with school.
